Male Hair Loss
While there are various hair loss conditions that can impact men, the most prevalent is Male Pattern Baldness (MPB), also known as androgenetic alopecia or genetic hair loss.
Male Pattern Baldness, or androgenetic alopecia, is a genetic condition that can be inherited from either side of the family. Even if your father has a full head of hair, it doesn’t guarantee immunity from this condition, though you might be fortunate. The main culprit behind Male Pattern Baldness is a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which is a by-product of testosterone. DHT binds to hair follicles, causing them to shrink progressively over time. This shrinkage results in thinner hair until some men may eventually become completely bald on the top of their head.
