Dermalux LED (Light Emitting Diode) therapy is a non-invasive skincare treatment that uses specific wavelengths of light to stimulate and promote various therapeutic effects in the skin. It is often employed for skin rejuvenation, acne treatment, and overall skin health improvement.
The therapy involves exposure to these specific light wavelengths, either individually or in combination, depending on the desired treatment outcomes. The treatment is typically administered in a series of sessions, and the duration of each session can vary based on the specific protocol and the targeted skin concerns.
Dermalux LED therapy utilises different colours of light, each with its unique benefits:
Red Light (630-700nm)
– Stimulates collagen production, promoting skin firmness and elasticity.
– Enhances blood circulation, aiding in nutrient delivery to skin cells.
– Reduces inflammation and redness.
– Accelerates healing processes.
Blue Light (415nm)
– Targets and destroys acne-causing bacteria (Propionibacterium acnes).

Near-Infrared Light (800-1200nm)

This treatment is carried out either as the final stage of a laser or facial treatment or as a stand-alone treatment.
You will be relaxing under the LED lamp while lying on the treatment couch. Your skin will be cleansed free of make up as the skin needs to be bare for the optimum results and your eyes will be protected with black out goggles.
The correct programme will be chosen which will be a combination of wavelengths best suited to your key concerns and will be on for between 15-20 minutes.
It will feel bright and warm as if you are laying out in a warm bright sunny day.
The device will be no more than 4 cm away from the skin for optimum results.
Yes they are safe, we always do a thorough consultation to ensure it is the right treatment for you. It is suitable for all skin types and benefits many different skin concerns. The treatment is non-invasive, meaning there is no downtime or recovery period. It is considered a gentle and safe.
There is no pain delivered from this treatment however if a client is claustrophobic we may lift the light slightly and sit with them through to ensure they are comfortable.
We recommend this service is performed as part of a course we recommend a course of between 6-12 sessions and then once the course is completed to come in for maintenance treatments.
